HELP
USING THE ONLINE ENGLISH GRAMMAR
1.Finding what you are looking for
There are several ways you can try to locate a specific grammar point or subject:
- Use the Contents or Subject Index Page - you will see links to these in the navigation bar at the top of each page
- Use the alphabetical finder - also at the top of each page. The finder will look for items in several 'layers' of the contents database that begin with the letter that you selected
- Use a keyword search - the keyword search box searches through the text of all pages in the grammar. This is not always the best way to search as, given that the Online Grammar is written in English, you may be searching for a common string that is both a grammatical point in the grammar as well as a very frequently used word in examples and explanations (e.g. 'the' , 'and' or 'as')
And if I still cannot find it?
As we are always adding new sections you may want to send us your suggestion
for a new topic for us to include in the OEG.
If you have a specific grammar question and you are a subscriber you can
email your question to us.

2.Using the Interactive Tests and Games
The interactive tests and games use Macromedia's Flash plug-in. This is a free plugin that is pre-installed in the majority of browsers (nearly all Microsoft and Netscape Version 4 and above browsers have it already installed). If you find that you cannot access the tests and exercises or that the page loads but that it stays blank then go to http://www.macromedia.com and download and install the latest version of the Flash Player. It is free and quick and easy to download install.

3.
Copying the OEG for use off-line
The Online English Grammar (web version) is copyright and you don't
legally have the right to store it on your computer or to print it out
for distribution (see Terms and Conditions).
You can print out selected pages for your own personal use or for use
with your students. If you would like the complete version which runs
on your desktop machine, portable or network and which has an automatic
update facility so that it remains up to date with the new exercises
and tests we develop then click on the 'Full Version' button in the navigation
bar.
