Richard Side is a teacher and the Academic Manager of the Eckersley School of English in Oxford, where he has worked since 1989. After studying at Oxford University he went to teach English for a year in Sudan. On returning to England he did one year's postgraduate teacher training at Exeter University and then went to Greece for four years where he taught English to all ages and levels, as well as becoming increasingly involved in teacher training and course design. He is the author of In Advance (Longman 1994), an advanced EFL coursebook, as well as several articles published in EFL journals.
